Appointments to see one of us

UPDATE – We are offering late appointments for GPs until 7pm one day each week, ask for details at reception. Minor illness appointments with Sister Windsor are bookable from 4pm the day before the appointment or on the day, as these are designed for minor illnesses.

For Doctors
We operate a system of pre-bookable and bookable appointments within 24 hours.  If you require an on the day appointment please ring after 4 p.m. the day before you require an appointment, or early in the morning.  We now have more appointments which are bookable up to 4 weeks in advance for those patients who require to have a follow up appointment in the future or wish to see a particular GP and the problem is not urgent.  Urgent appointment requests on the day may be dealt with by the duty doctor either on the telephone or as a face to face consultation. Please give as much information as you can to the receptionist to ensure you are dealt with effectively.

For Nurses
Most appointments are bookable in advance.
Minor illness clinics run on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday mornings and Monday afternoons and are only bookable on the day.

Some of our Doctors and Nurses also run specialist clinics for certain patient groups. Please see Services We Offer for details. These  are bookable in advance only.

At present appointments are only taken by phone or in person at the surgery

Speaking with one of us
We are all happy to speak with you on the phone if an appointment is not necessary. Please ask the receptionist for a telephone consultation with the GP of your choice and she will try to arrange a suitable time for you to speak to the GP on the telephone.  If your call is of an urgent nature you will be called by the duty doctor on the day.

Home Visits
If you are too ill to come to the surgery we will visit you at home

Please ring as soon as possible in the day so we can organise our workload.

Please give as much information to the receptionists so we can see the more urgent cases first. Thank you

Please bear in mind that home visits take a lot of time, so we are very grateful if you can come in, even if you are feeling ill. Let us know if this is the case and we will make a special effort not to keep you waiting.

Tests and Results
We are happy to give these over the phone but please ring after 10 am.

For confidentiality reasons we will only give results to the person to whom they relate
