Improved access at East Street Surgery – Following on from our most recent patient survey and patient feedback, we are please to announce that patients are now able to book more appointments in advance with the GP of your choice. We hope that this is useful to patients in planning their busy lives. We also offer late appointments on Tuesday evening each week with some GPs. Please ask the receptionist for an advance appointment on the day most suitable to you. As part of the above survey it was felt that it would be beneficial to have the ability to arrange a timed telephone consultation with your chosen GP, we are pleased to say we have now adopted this and you can ask at reception about a telephone consultation with the GP of your choice, this maybe in the future so the only thing we ask is that you make yourselves available at the allocated time because the GP will not be able to call you back again that day if you miss your timed slot, these will be treated just like an appointment and should not be missed without informing the practice, so that it can be offered to another patient. Duty Doctor available all day Monday to Friday – as part of the improvements we are making we are adopting having a doctor on duty each day, this may mean that when you ring for an appointment or to speak to a GP on the telephone you may be asked if it the problem is urgent for that day and if it is your request will be passed to the duty doctor who will help you either on the telephone or face to face whichever is most appropriate. As part of the above changes and our extended surgery hours to accommodate more advance appointments and telephone consultations we are not able to provide an open ended ring back service to our patients, please speak to the reception team to find out the best way to access your GP should you need to. We hope the changes we have made will enable our patients to gain even better access to our services. Any feedback would be very welcome via Maria Hosegood our Practice Manager.
